Hard book

As opposed to light fiction, when the hero performs routine tasks throughout the book, in parallel with easy battles and a harem of beauties, some authors, on the contrary, complicate the work as much as possible.

The world may not only be non-standard, often the reader does not fully understand the unfolding events throughout the entire book. These can be phantasmogorical actions with complex philosophical overtones, understandable only to the author and those readers who are immersed in the book as closely as possible. Or, in general, the world and the characters will not evoke positive emotions throughout almost the entire book.

In addition, increased attention can be paid to various moral torments of the hero, which do not have a direct impact on the plot but only reveal the character and motivations of the hero.

For eminent authors, this is one of the opportunities to stand out and attract their readers, especially against the backdrop of hundreds of similar “tabloid fiction” books. And if the reader forgets an ordinary book immediately after reading it, then a difficult work can be remembered for a long time and will make you return to it again and again.

Of course, a certain percentage of readers looking for light entertainment may simply close the book after reading the first couple of chapters. Therefore, in order to understand why it is still worth reading this difficult work, you need to be prepared to devote more attention and time to such a book.
