Sheiko Maksym Aleksandrovych. World beyond #2 Another reality

Germany's victory in the east led to a radical change in the general situation in the world, and fragmentary information obtained from the future as early as 1940 introduces an additional element of chaos into the familiar course of history - a completely different reality is emerging. So: the late autumn of 1942 - the world has changed, but nothing has been decided yet.

The parallel reality that fans of parallel history like to talk about so much. But here Germany was able to throw all its forces at the Soviet Union and as a result achieved victory. No, the USSR did not capitulate, but the conditions of peace are hard to call anything other than defeat. Now Germany has no risk of a war on two fronts. What would happen if the allies had to actually go to war with Germany without the participation of the USSR? After all, today American historians are so fond of arguing that it was they who won the war, what will happen if they are actually given such an opportunity.

Quite an unusual book, which at first glance can be considered a praise of the German military forces. No, the Allies here are achieving success at sea and even completely occupying Africa. Only Germany does not strive to build up its fleet, which is initially weaker. She bets on ground troops. And here the veterans who passed through the Soviet Union, with the latest weapons and competent leadership, become an insurmountable obstacle for the numerous, but not very professional, American and British troops. And with a natural result, with any demand, it will land in Europe.

But time does not stand still, and while the military is fighting with traditional weapons with variable success, scientists are racing to create a new one that should tilt the scales.

As the author explains, this is not an attempt to pay tribute to the Namst warriors. This is an attempt to show how much influence the Soviet Union had on the course of the war and what prospects opened up for the Allies in the event of its defeat

The plot, as in the first book, is conducted on behalf of several heroes. And in the breaks between the biography of an SS officer and a party worker close to Hitler, we see historical chronicles of a war that could have happened. In which whole divisions and fleets are attacking, and both tactical genius and personal skills of ordinary soldiers are influential. No, of course the author sometimes goes a little overboard (such as the raid of several hundred (!) heavy bombers on a village in which the SS-shepherds grazed) But otherwise, the described military actions are quite plausible.

Alternative history

Historical chronicle of the war between Germany and the Allies, from which the Soviet Union has already left and lost huge territories

Against the background of global events - the fate of several simple and not so simple people

The Soviet Union is practically excluded from the events, and it is impossible to sympathize with the American and British troops.

German troops are shown to be the best in the world, and all the demands of the allies end in failure. Maybe historically it was so, but it still causes internal rejection
