Space battles

Space battles

One of the main differences between space science fiction and regular fantasy is the possibility of using spaceships. Moreover, by owning a spaceship you become independent. If problems arise on some planet or with some state, then the hero can simply fly to another star system.

And of course, spaceships become the main participant in military confrontations. The personal strength of the hero, his physical or magical capabilities are no longer important here. When battles take place at cosmic distances, the technical capabilities of the ship and the hero’s ability to use them effectively have an impact.

As the scale grows, the battles become more massive. Now it is not individual ships that are fighting, but entire squadrons or fleets. The outcome of the battle can decide the fate of entire planets or star systems.

Not only the number, but also the size of ships is growing. Now the most powerful ships can be many kilometers in size and are capable of single-handedly wiping out continents. Moreover, they are opposed by the same giants.

In such battles, the strategic talents of the commanders come first. If the main character has a high status in the hierarchy, then he wins the battle.

Sometimes the hero will command only one of the many ships participating in the battle. In this case, his ship will often have some non-standard capabilities or a specific role in the battle. This allows you to have a key influence on the course of the battle even if you are not in command of it as a whole.

The technology used in the battles plays a huge role in books with space battles. As the scale grows, ships gain new capabilities and technologies change. New classes of ships are being added, and their sizes can be very close to the size of satellites or, in some cases, even planets.

If you are not just a fan of the romance of space travel, but want to feel like a participant in large-scale space battles, then you should pay attention to these books
