Unexpected plot twist

Unexpected plot twist

Plot twists that are unexpected for the reader are present in any book. After all, if everything develops as predictably as possible, then there will be no interest in continuing to read.

Sometimes the development of events comes as more than just a surprise to the reader. The author can change everything radically - at one moment sworn enemies may cease to be enemies, allies will turn out to be not who they say they are, and the main character may even find himself on the other side of the confrontation

If the book has a detective plot, then unexpected turns will, in principle, be the basis of the entire plot. After all, the basis of interest in any detective story is precisely that no one can predict in advance the outcome of events.

Another option used by many authors is often past events that the hero has no memory or knowledge of. And at one fine moment (by accident or as a result of conscious searches), the past overtakes the hero and forces him to radically change his ideas about himself and the world as a whole.

Often in a book there is a “villain” or simply an opponent of the heroes, whose identity remains a mystery until a certain moment. And at the moment when the heroes finally find out his identity, the plot changes dramatically. After all, this can often be one of their comrades, whom the heroes completely trust, or another character, of whom no one had suspicions.

It is not always the case that a surprise awaits towards the end of a book or in the final battle. This of course enhances the impact of the plot's climax, but is not necessary. Sometimes a turn occurs closer to the middle of the book so that the characters have time to adapt to new realities. Often this allows you to further reveal the world from different sides. For example, look both from the point of view of one opposition camp and from the side of their opponents.

Unexpected and dramatic plot twists definitely improve the experience of reading a book and will be one of the reasons to recommend the book for reading.

Dalin Maxim – My Holy Land

Dalin Maxim – My Holy Land

Author: Dalin Maxim

The chosen one, the unfortunate, the good king, hidden in infancy from enemies and called upon to save the country when his time struck. Stamps, stamps, stamps, gems of eternal subjects, trampled by herds of epigones, like the steps of a temple - by the soles of idle tourists. In the noosphere, where good has long been no longer even with fists, but with sword and magic, a blaster and a hydrogen bomb, where the positive hero is no longer a walking mouthpiece of virtues, white, boring, cloying, like a lump in semolina, but a brave fellow, whatever manages to hit or shoot first, there is no place for a novel about a righteous man. Is he boring, a prosperous boy from a good family, a teenager and a dropout? Is he funny, Ivanushka the fool, having peaceful conversations with demons and dragons? Is he ridiculous, a white warrior who cannot ride a horse, armed with a smile, a chocolate bar and aspirin? Who needs him in hell, where kickbacks are cheerfully sawed - a naively naked soul among souls dressed in armor? And what can he do, alone, against a united hell? Only to die nobly? Have you already decided? But hold on, dear audience.
